About the owners

Ron and Deb, of Columbia Station, Ohio, owners of the Cherry Bronco and the Club Car, deliver quite a treat at the custom car shows and specialty vehicle competetions they compete in yearly. Fielding the questions of the many onlookers is just part of the joy of owning the Cherry '77.

The Cherry Bronco tells its story:

My name is Cherry 77, I am a 1977 Ford Bronco. I have a new 302 crate motor and automatic trans. My body is completely made of Cherry wood. All 7/8" to 1" pieces glued and screwed together. My bumpers and trim are done in Oak and Ash wood's. There is one coat of Linseed Oil and three coats of Marine Varnish on me to protect me from the weather. My owner's keep me clean with furniture polish.

It took the "Team" 8 months to complete me, from Sept. 2004 to May 2005. My very first show was in Michigan at Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. (where some of my parts came from) I have been to many shows since. Enjoying every one and always looking forward to the next one.

Just so ya know:

I have NOT been treated for termites................ I never sit still long enough for them to catch me. So I hope I never have to be!
I might Float ..............But really don't care to!
I Do get driven on the road.........Locally to shows, parades and crusins'. But if to far I rest my wheels in the trailer!
My body now is actually about 300lbs lighter than the original metal.

The Team

My creator's name is "Jack" a great man who put his time and talent into making me. ( "Thanks Jack") Jack makes wooden vehicle's and furniture as a hobby in his spare time. I am one of many vehicle's he has made over the years. The other's are a '71 Opal Wagon ( made to look like a '31 Model A Truck ) '84 Ford Ranger, '56 Jeep Willys, '60 Jeep CJ 5 , '66 Jeep CJ, '69 Jeep CJ, '77 Jeep CJ 5. The 1956 Jeep is made out of pine logs (like a cabin) it gets all the attention at the shows , and is named " Freddy Flintstone ". A 1977 Bronco Replica on a 1994 Club Car frame, and Dump Truck Replica on a 1982 Yamaha frame.

My owner Ron, his dad Jim , friends Rick and Hunter worked on the rest of me. The motor, frame, metal fabricating, and painting, etc. All the wood work was done at Jacks house. Then I was trailered to a friend's house, to be placed on a lift, then onto my new frame and motor. I was really a RUST bucket when they found me 4 sale on the road side. So I am glad to have this pretty new body!! (" Thanks Team")
